The 6 reasons to go to Nicaragua!
Nicaragua is in the middle of Central America and its capital is Managua. It shares borders with Honduras and Costa Rica. It is bordered to the north by the Caribbean Sea and to the south by the Pacific Ocean. This country between seas and mountains was under the yoke of dictatorship for a long time. Between the warm welcome from the population, the cheerful and colorful architecture and exceptional nature reserves, there is no need to look for more reasons to go to Nicaragua.

Contemplate the colonial architecture, witness of the Spanish era
Nicaragua was under Spanish domination and became an independent state in 1821. It is a country where a Moorish Andalusian architectural style has remained very present. This type of colonial architecture can be seen very well in Granada, a magnificent city and, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful in Central America. It is known as "The Great Sultana".

 Walk the chain of volcanoes
Nicaragua is located on an active tectonic zone. A chain of volcanoes runs through the country along the Pacific coast. It is a unique occasion to observe the boiling earth. Certain volcanoes are still active today. You can climb its peaks and enjoy incredible panoramic views. The hiking trails there are not the easiest, but they will be even more rewarding that way. The spectacle of nature is served!

Get carried away by the rhythm of the islands
The volcanoes? Well, the islands too! After wearing your sole up the slopes of the volcanoes, it's time to put your shoes away and sink your feet into the sand. Along the Caribbean coast are the fantastic Corn Islands. They have a large inventory of beaches with fine sand and turquoise waters, nautical sports and hammocks where you can give free rein to laziness.

Live the ecstasy of the waves on the southern beaches
And if during your stay in Nicaragua the board throws you more than the fins, the goggles and the tube, go to any of the surf destinations on the Pacific coast. San Juan del Sur is the favorite destination of most surfers. If you don't surf, nothing happens; there are plenty of other activities to practice in the region. The entire coast is full of bays, which is more beautiful.

Explore natural parks, with a unique biodiversity
Nicaragua can boast of its many parks and nature reserves. They occupy a large part of the territory, you won't even know where to start! Explore, for example, the mangrove swamp in the Estero Padre Ramos nature reserve. You will be able to see crocodiles and many birds. The Miraflor nature reserve is at a higher altitude. It gives you the opportunity to cross jungles and tropical savannas. To discover the underwater fauna and flora, head to the Cayos Miskitos biological reserve. You can dive with turtles on its reefs.

Discover the largest island in the world in a freshwater lake
No trip to Nicaragua would be complete without a visit to the island of Ometepe. This incredible island surrounded by fresh water is made up of two volcanoes linked by an isthmus of lava. Dare to make the ascent to the two peaks. You will have spectacular views of one of the largest lakes in Latin America. You can also bathe in the incredible Ojo del Agua and watch the howler monkeys, which are everywhere.
