The 6 reasons to go to Honduras!
It has been several centuries since Christopher Columbus landed on the Caribbean coast, in the place where the city of Trujillo was founded shortly after. It is a vast country in Central America that opens to two seas and is home to numerous natural resources, it is to be expected that Honduras will soon cease to be a hidden treasure for most tourists.

Traveling off the beaten track
Honduras is an increasingly popular destination! Tourism is growing little by little, but it is still far from the tourist figures of countries like Costa Rica, for example. Therefore, Honduras is a destination that has many places, except those of greater interest like Copán, where you will hardly meet other tourists. It is an ideal destination for the more adventurous travelers who want to explore new places.

Discover the fabulous ruins of the Mayan civilization
The Mayan site of Copán has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is one of the main archaeological sites in Central America and one of the best preserved, at the level of Tikal, in Guatemala. There was a time when it was one of the most powerful Mayan cities in the region. You will be able to admire the beautiful pyramidal stone constructions and the exceptional ornamental sculptures. But Honduras is also home to other lesser-known archaeological sites that are still little exploited at the tourist level, such as Yarumela and Tenampúa.

Admire the exceptional underwater flora and fauna of the Caribbean Sea
The islands of the Bay, Roatán, Utila and Guanaja, are famous for their beautiful white sand beaches and their turquoise sea. It is an ideal place to relax and enjoy all kinds of activities related to the sea, such as scuba diving. Honduras is surrounded by one of the largest coral reefs in the world. The island of Utila has become one of the most important destinations in this sector and the prices of the services offered are ridiculous, so it is a great opportunity for you to start!

Explore one of its many natural parks, which are home to endemic species
Honduras has a large number of national parks and nature reserves, which cover more than a fifth of the territory. Biodiversity is one of the key attractions of the country and the variety of landscapes offers visitors a truly rich experience. Rainforests, lakes, cloud forests, mangroves and mountain peaks will make up the scene of your explorations and you will be able to do many activities: hiking, boat trips and bird watching, including the famous quetzal, in the Cusuco National Park.

Admire the vestiges of the Spanish conquest and the colonial architecture of the historic cities
You can visit the fortresses from the time of Spanish colonization that were used to defend the coast and cities such as Trujillo or Gracias. These cities also conserve beautiful colonial buildings and have typically cobbled streets. In other cities, such as Esperanza and Comayagua, you will admire numerous churches and squares, the latter surrounded by buildings of colonial architecture.

Meet a hospitable and generous population
The people of Honduras are delighted to see how their country attracts the attention of an increasing number of tourists and that they are interested in their culture. Especially outside the usual tourist routes, you will come across very nice and curious people with whom it will be easy for you to talk and with whom you can share very beautiful moments.

When to travel to Honduras
The climate of Honduras is not uniform throughout the country. It can be divided into three areas, the Caribbean coast, the central, mountainous, and the south of the country. The Caribbean coast is warm and humid all year round. The mountains and downtown enjoy a cooler climate that is divided into two seasons, as does the Pacific coast.
