Poland
The 5 reasons to go to Poland!
Poland offers its visitors truly wonderful medieval cities, a very beautiful coastline and an exceptional cultural life.
For its magnificent cities, too unknown
Although Krakow and, to a lesser extent, Warsaw often appear as must-see destinations on tourist itineraries in Poland, there are other cities that are equally worth it, although surprisingly people neglect them. Whether it is Wroclaw, Toruń or Gdansk, you will quickly realize that Poland has many attractions to seduce you, and, in addition, these cities often hide a lot of museums and theaters full of activity, as well as a very lively nightlife.
For facing the horror of the holocaust
Auschwitz was undoubtedly the epicenter of terror in the 20th century and, although it may seem strange to intersperse a visit to this place of historical memory between two nights of beer gardens in Krakow, it is important to go to become aware of the horrors that took place in this famous Nazi concentration camp of World War II, where around a million Jews, Roma and political prisoners were executed between 1942 and 1945.
For its wide range of delicious vodkas
You can only get the idea of the wide range of Polish vodkas when you travel around the country and see with your own eyes the variety of bottles of Polish vodkas, each one more delicious than the last. Forget Smirnoffs and other Absoluts: you have just arrived in the country of caramelized vodkas, flavored with bison grass, raspberry, honey, etc. It is the national drink par excellence. Now you will understand why Polish nights are so lively!
By its nature, with its magnificent coastline, its wild mountains and its national parks
With just traveling a few days to the interior of Poland, you will stop thinking that it is a gray country. It has landscapes of a rather surprising diversity, between the Baltic coast, very pleasant during the summer, especially around the seaside resorts of Sopot, and the mountains in the south of the country, be it the Tatra Mountains in Zakopane or the mysterious Beskidy. Of course, don't forget the national parks in the east of the country, including the illustrious Białowieża, a primary forest on the border with Belarus and one of the largest reserves of wild bison in all of Europe.
For the hospitality of its inhabitants
Tourist guides usually talk about the hospitality of the local inhabitants and then, once in the places, the coldness of the locals makes us wonder what they were referring to. But this is not the case in Poland, because Poles will be delighted to show you the beauty of their country, its cultural specialties and the devastating effect of their vodka.
When to travel to Poland?
The period from May to October is the best to visit Poland. Cities are beautiful throughout the year, especially in winter, while outdoor activities are more enjoyable in summer or early fall.
