Norway
The 5 reasons to go to Norway!
If you go to Norway especially for its landscapes, and not so much for its cities, landscapes are by far the only reason why the country deserves to be visited.
Discover landscapes that will take your breath away
"Take your breath away," the term is appropriate. Norway is distinguished by what it offers: natural parks, fjords, glaciers that will enchant fans of hiking, cross-country skiing and any other outdoor activity. Among the essentials, the Geiranger Fjord is very well located, but also the Hardangervidda plateau, the Jostedal glacier, or even the Lofoten islands are part of those many places that will make your trip to Norway an unforgettable experience. Numerous cruise ships stop at various cities in the north and west, from Kirkenes to Bergen, allowing you to discover a different side of Norway.
Enjoy unusual moments
Watching the midnight sun, gazing at the Northern Lights, finding a herd of reindeer, there's no need to leave the continent for a chance to experience these moments. Norway is a country that, thanks to its geographical position and climate, offers many possibilities in terms of unusual experiences.
Soak up Norwegian culture
Already in the linguistic plane, you will see that Norwegian has some similarities with German, but absolutely none with Spanish. Fortunately, the Norwegian population speaks very good English. Of course, culture is not limited to language, eating habits (meal times, most consumed products, etc.), way of life, that discipline that impressed me personally, they are also part of it. At the same time modern and authentic, Norway has managed to find that balance that seduces us all. Altogether it is nice to stay there and it is easy to adapt to their way of life.
Meet the Norwegian people
If Norwegians can be distant at first, their kindness and availability, always mixed with great discretion, are such that you will never have the impression of being alone. Education, trust, solidarity, are acquired values and are an integral part of Norwegian society. Pay attention, whoever says respect for the other says respect for the rules and you don't play with that. Discussion and haggling are irrelevant.
Back to sources
If many countries experience intense tourism development, Norway manages to conserve its natural places and limit the massive arrivals of tourists as best as possible. It is not unusual to find yourself alone in the middle of nature, in front of those immensities that give you the impression of being at the end of the world. If you are looking for calm and tranquility, then this country is made for you. Of course, like everywhere else, some places are full of tourists during high season, this is the case of Flåm, a small town where both the Flåmsbana (tourist train that connects Flåm with Myrdal) and the many cruise ships stop.
When to travel to Norway?
It is best to visit Norway in summer: the birds are singing, the temperatures are bearable, and the hiking trails are open. Lapland is an exception: you have to brave the cold here to see the Northern Lights, and this part of the country is magical under the snow. In a nutshell
